Fifth place finish falls just short of the SUPER GT series championship

With the series championship in sight, Astemo REAL RACING took part in Round 8 of Super GT at MOTEGI on November 5–6. For the final round of the season, we qualified at 10th for a challenging start, and made a valiant effort to make up for it in the final race.
Matsushita took on the first stint and moved up to 8th right after the start, pushing hard to move up to 4th position. On lap 25, the team made a pit stop and switched drivers to Tsukakoshi. On the out-lap, Tsukakoshi defended the 4th position and pursued car #12 (CALSONIC IMPUL Z), which was ahead in the series ranking. However, the pace did not improve, and by the end of the race he had dropped to 5th at the checkered flag.
While the team finished 4th in the driver rankings and couldn't win the series championship, it marked the conclusion to a memorable season. This season saw REAL RACING's first podium finish at the Suzuka Circuit, the team's hometown. And in Round 7, the team came back from a crash to win the race in dramatic fashion.
