In the opening round of the 2023 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (AARC) season, held at the Chang International Circuit (Thailand) on March 24-26, our sponsored teams saw a strong start.
Hitachi Astemo continued its sponsorship of Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA and Astemo SI Racing with Thai Honda this year.
In Race 1, last year's series champion Zaqhwan Zaidi (Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA) finished 3rd and 2nd in Race 2 after a fierce battle among 4 riders to earn his first podium finish of the season. Teammate Andi Farid Izdihar finished 5th in Race 1 and 4th in Race 2. Passawit Thitivararak (Astemo SI Racing with Thai Honda) finished 6th in Race 1 and 5th in Race 2. With a solid initial performance for the Hitachi Astemo-sponsored riders, we’re looking forward to seeing how the racing season unfolds.
