Astemo Dream Si Racing qualifies for Suzuka 8 Hours after hard-fought battle

Round 2 of the 2023 MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship (JRR) season was held at the Suzuka Circuit (Mie) on April 22-23, with the lively weekend seeing many fans returning to the circuit as the COVID-19 risk subsided. This time, only the JSB1000 class raced as the race was also a qualifying race for the FIM Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race, to be held in August.
In the Race 1 final, Mizuno had electrical trouble after the start and struggled throughout, but managed to finish 7th. Sakumoto made a good start from 14th position and steadily overtook the bikes in front to finish in 6th place.
In Race 2, Mizuno, who started from 3rd at one point took the lead, but was passed by the top group and finished 4th. Starting from 12th position, Sakumoto made a good start similar to Race 1 and quickly moved up to 5th position. He was battling with his teammate Mizuno for 4th position, but on the last lap, Mizuno passed him and Sakumoto finished 5th. Astemo Honda Dream SI Racing has qualified for the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race by finishing in the top 10 in Race 1. We are aiming for a podium finish this year, so your support is greatly appreciated.
