On August 24-25, round 5 of the MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship was held at Mobility Resort Motegi (Tochigi Prefecture).
Since the four-wheeled Super Formula was held on the same day, only the JSB1000 class competed, with Kohta Nozane from Astemo Honda Dream SI Racing taking part.
During the three-month interval since the 4th round in May, our race machine was updated, focusing mainly on weight reduction.
In Saturday's qualifier, he was able to catch up to the Ducati right in front and took 2nd place by a mere 0.028 seconds.
Sunday’s race day was very hot and humid due to the previous day's rain, presenting difficult race conditions for the riders.
Nozane got a good start and took the holeshot to lead the race, but was passed by a Ducati on lap 5, and dropped to 4th after being passed by Yamaha riders on lap 7.
Finishing 20 laps without further position changes, he finished the race in 4th place.
