All Japan Road Race round 6: Taiga Hada wins Race 1 in the ST1000 Class!

On September 7-8, round 6 of the MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship was held at Autopolis (Oita Prefecture), marking the first time all classes raced since round 3 at Sugo in May. In the ST1000 class, Taiga Hada, who showed a solid performance in the Suzuka 8 Hours, substituted for Watanabe who was still recovering from injuries sustained earlier this year.

In Saturday’s JSB1000 class Race 1, Nozane started strong from 3rd on the grid, moving up to 2nd. On lap 2, he overtook Yamaha rider Nakasuga, who started from pole position, to take the lead. However, Nozane was penalized for a jump start (starting before the start signal went off), and was forced to do a ride-through penalty (where the rider must pass through the pit lane under speed restrictions and rejoin the race without stopping), which sent him to the back of the field. The race was interrupted by a red flag due to a crash in the middle of the race, and after the restart with 8 laps remaining, Nozane launched a furious comeback, passing 12 riders to finish in 4th.
For Sunday’s Race 2, he again started from 3rd on the grid and was running in 2nd by lap 2, but was overtaken by Yamaha rider Okamoto on lap 3. A fierce battle for 3rd then unfolded among three Honda riders, with the positions changing multiple times, and Nozane narrowly missed the podium with a 4th place finish.

In the ST1000 class, despite this being his first time on an ST1000 machine, Hada took the double pole position with excellent bike control in the qualifying. In Saturday’s Race 1, he fought a close battle with Team HARC-PRO rider Kunii, losing the lead on laps 2 and 7 but quickly regaining the top position each time. Hada never relinquished his lead thereafter and claimed victory. In Sunday’s Race 2, Hada once again faced off against Kunii in a tight duel, and attempting to overtake him at the second hairpin on the final lap. However, due to a yellow flag being waved, he was unable to complete the move and had to settle for a close 2nd place. Despite his spot entry, Hada's performance was outstanding, securing back-to-back podium finishes.

In the J-GP3 class, Thanachat started from 12th on the grid in the final race and managed to overtake three riders to finish 9th, achieving his goal of finishing within the top 10.

At the 6th round at Autopolis, all riders from Astemo Honda SI Racing finished in the top 10, demonstrating both the team’s strength and the high performance of Astemo products.
