All Japan Road Race: Kohta Nozane secures first podium finish in JSB’s final round

The 8th and final round of the MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship took place at Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture on October 26-27.

In Saturday’s Race 1 of the JSB1000 class, Nozane started from third on the grid and had an excellent start, taking the lead on the opening lap. He briefly dropped to fourth place by lap three but stayed with the top group throughout the race. However, he was unable to keep up with the final push by the front runners and finished in fourth.
In Sunday’s Race 2, he started from the fourth grid position. Mid-race, Yamaha’s Nakasuga held the lead, keeping Nozane engaged in a close battle for third. As the race neared its end, a crash brought out the safety car. After the track was cleared with three laps remaining, the race resumed. Nozane made a strong restart, advancing to second as they came down the home straight. Yamaha’s Okamoto was close behind, but Nozane held his ground to finish in second place, marking his first podium finish of the season in this final race.

In the ST1000 class, Sakumoto started from the 11th grid position, advancing through the field to finish in ninth.
Watanabe was unable to make his anticipated return, so Hada continued to be the substitute rider, starting from the third grid and securing the lead early on. In a fierce battle for the lead with Kunii from Team HARC-PRO and Kunimine from TOHO Racing, Hada stayed competitive throughout. Although Kunii picked up the pace in the race’s final stages, Hada put up a strong chase and finished in second place by a narrow margin. Since joining as a substitute from Round 6 at Autopolis, Hada has consistently placed on the podium.

This season, the Astemo Honda SI Racing CBR1000RR-R was equipped with Astemo’s latest in cutting-edge technology, contributing significantly to the team’s excellent results. We are also deeply grateful for the support of all our fans.
