At the exhibition, Hitachi Automotive Systems will be showcasing its oil dampers supporting safety and comfort in railway vehicles.

Hitachi Automotive Systems’ oil dampers for railway vehicles were developed using technology from its vehicle shock absorbers, and have been delivered to railway vehicle manufacturers for more than 70 years since production started in 1940. Using technology nurtured from its automotive component development, Hitachi Automotive Systems handles a wide range of products, such as vertical, horizontal, and yaw dampers, and its achievements are highly regarded both in Japan and overseas.

To expand its business targeted at railway vehicles given the rising global demand, Hitachi Automotive Systems will be exhibiting for the first time at the 4th Mass-Trans Innovation Japan 2015, the largest railway technology exhibition in Japan, at Booth E-20. At the exhibition, besides displaying its vertical and horizontal dampers targeted at railway vehicles overseas, it will be introducing the damping effect of its variable damper system jointly developed by the Railway Technical Research Institute and Hitachi Automotive Systems. This effect is one of the features of the variable damper system, and will be introduced via video using the 42-inch screen at the booth. In addition, gas springs for railway vehicles manufactured by Hitachi Automotive Systems and sold by its joint exhibitor, Hitachi Automotive Systems & Nagano, Ltd., will be displayed at the booth.

Hitachi Automotive Systems Group aims to expand and deepen recognition of its brand through this exhibition by displaying its wide range of product groups aimed at railway vehicles, which uses technology from its main automotive component business.
