Hitachi Automotive Systems employee Yoshikatsu Eguchi
recognized for his achievements including being a recipient of
Medal with Yellow Ribbon

Tokyo, November 3, 2020 --- Hitachi Automotive Systems is proud to recognize the achievements of one of its employees, Yoshikatsu Eguchi. At the Autumn 2020 Conferment of Decorations Mr. Eguchi received a medal with yellow ribbon for his outstanding technical skills and achievements. Mr. Eguchi is a senior supervisor in the 1st Manufacturing Section, Global Tool & Equipment Department, ICE Production Unit, ICE Business Unit, Powertrain & Safety Systems Division.

The medal with yellow ribbon was established in 1955 and is awarded to individuals who, through their diligence and perseverance while engaging in their professional activities, became public role models. Since 1990, Mr. Eguchi has been engaged in the manufacturing operations of assembly, machining and testing equipment for automotive parts. He holds numerous qualifications and national technical skills certifications. He has also contributed to the improvement in both precision and reliability of equipment manufacturing by leveraging his advanced technical skills and broad expertise to propose and materialize ideas.

Mr. Eguchi has been active as a National Skills Test Assistant since 1996 and became a National Skills Test Committee Member since 2001. Furthermore, he has been engaged in in-company training since 2015 and has produced many successful candidates in the National Skills Test and prize winners in the WorldSkills Olympics. He has greatly contributed to training programs to foster a monozukuri spirit for new employees and the global rollout of such programs.

Mr. Eguchi received the Kanagawa Governor’s Award both in 2015 and 2016 and received the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare’s “Contemporary Master Craftsman” award in 2018 for his outstanding technical skills.

Hitachi Automotive Systems will continue to endeavor in the training of highly skilled engineers to develop and promote technologies to improve society.
