Tokyo, December 9, 2022 – Hitachi Astemo, Ltd. (President & CEO: Brice Koch; henceforth, “Hitachi Astemo”) is pleased to announce the release of its ESG Report 2022. The Report outlines Hitachi Astemo’s policy and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) activity conducted in fiscal 2021.

Hitachi Astemo is working to adapt to a growing number of global issues, such as climate change, human rights, labor and corporate ethics, and to strengthen its management while facing the challenges of a VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) environment. In order to sustain long-term growth, the Company considers ESG, to be a core part of it’s management and essential for strengthening its structure to become a sustainable company and ongoing contributing to its SDGs.
The ESG Report 2022 is divided into categories including a section on Environment which introduces Hitachi Astemo’s efforts to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society, an advanced recycling society and a society in harmony with nature are also introduced. The section on Society describes innovation in R&D and intellectual property, global human resources management and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. This section also includes value chain management in procurement/quality/customer satisfaction as well as describes how the company contributes to the community. Finally, Corporate Governance section reports on initiatives to strengthen compliance, risk management and information security.
