FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rendition of booth exhibit
Tokyo, May 17, 2023 – Hitachi Astemo, Ltd. (President & CEO: Brice Koch) will exhibit at the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2023, which will be held from Wednesday, May 24 to Friday, May 26 at PACIFICO Yokohama (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture). Come see us at booth number 148 where we will showcase our advanced technologies and mobility solutions critical to next-generation vehicles and contributing towards realizing sustainable and safer driving.
At the exhibition, we will show video of our cooperative automatic driving technology, which is an integrated control system that improves safety and comfort in automated driving. Using high-precision 3D recognition technology, it precisely measures the available driving space while determining the trajectory of oncoming vehicles. This enables safe and smooth passing of oncoming vehicles. The new stereo camera, which is a component of the system, enables accurate 3D detection of free space even in complex environments through the use of AI.
In addition, we will introduce electric powertrain systems as the latest technology contributing to a decarbonized society, including compact and lightweight inverters with built-in DC/DC converters. Visitors can also experience a simulation of steer-by-wire—a device that eliminates the conventional steering wheel and expands the cabin space—which uses electric signals to steer the vehicle.
Featured motorcycle technologies include EV*1 technologies, such as e-Axle, which integrates a compact, high-power inverter, motor, and gearbox; and integrated control ADAS*2 technology, which links a stereo camera, powertrain, suspension, and brakes to enhance safety.
* 1 EV: Electric Vehicle
* 2 ADAS: Advanced Driver Assistance System
