FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tokyo, November 1, 2024 -- Hitachi Astemo, Ltd. (hereafter “Astemo”) established Astemo Cypremos, Ltd. (hereafter “Cypremos”) on November 1, 2024 as a new company to provide software and cloud services, with the aim of expanding its support for SDV*1 and realizing new mobility services. Cypremos will provide value by improving car intelligence and mobility evolution linked to the cloud.
In the automotive industry today, vehicle control and functions are increasingly dependent on software due to the evolution of autonomous driving technology, the spread of connected cars, and the acceleration of electrification. With the importance of software drastically increasing, software development is becoming more sophisticated and complex. As a result, improving the efficiency and speed of engineering has become an urgent issue for the entire industry.
Astemo as a global mega-supplier has been providing tangible value in the In-Car domain, which includes software and E/E*2 architecture that contribute to realizing advanced vehicle functions such as autonomous driving. To further strengthen our response to the In-Car domain and respond quickly to the current market demands, Astemo has established a new company that will lead the digital engineering revolution in the Out-Car domain.
As a Tier 0.5 supplier with its extensive system proposal capabilities, Astemo will utilize cloud and communication technologies to support SDV through the IoV*3 platform. This platform includes the Out-Car domain, which is technology outside of vehicles that expands functionality and improves performance.
Cypremos will achieve innovation in the engineering field by combining cutting-edge digital technology, data utilization, and AI technology. It will also leverage Astemo’s automobile manufacturing knowledge and expertise, which was cultivated by working with various automobile manufacturers to develop In-Car hardware and software such as ECUs*4 and AD/ADAS*5. Furthermore, Cypremos will recruit highly specialized global personnel and, together with automobile manufacturers and global development partners, will take on the challenge of creating value in the advanced mobility services domain to lead the SDV era paradigm shift.
Through the IoV Platform, which combines the In-Car and Out-Car domains, Astemo and Cypremos will provide the value required in the SDV era as Tier 0.5 supplier, and aim to develop business for mobility services that look beyond SDV and towards sustainable growth. We contribute to the realization of a sustainable society and prosperous lives for people through provision of world-leading advanced mobility solutions. Also, we aim to provide safety and security through mobility and to enable people around the world to enjoy more free and prosperous lives.
In 2025, the new company plans to move its base of operations from Yokohama to Shibuya Sakura Stage in Shibuya, Tokyo, a center of Japan's IT technology and human resources. By actively recruiting a diverse range of talent and fostering a global and cutting-edge culture, Cypremos aims to become a leading company in digital engineering.
