Hitachi Automotive Systems (Suzhou) Announces to Receives the
“2015 (the fifth) GOOD FACTORY prize” from the Japan
Management Association

Tokyo, July 23, 2015 --- Hitachi Automotive Systems (Suzhou) Ltd., a group company of Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. that develops and produces engine control systems in the People’s Republic of China, today announced that the company received the “2015 (the fifth) GOOD FACTORY prize " (Prize category: "Prize for manufacturing personnel training contribution”) from the Japan Management Association (JMA).

Presented by JMA, the Good Factory Prize evaluates the increases in productivity or product quality, as well as the results of improvement initiatives, of Japanese corporations that have production bases in Japan or the Asian region. Every year, the award commends corporations in four prize categories: Prize for manufacturing process innovation, Prize for manufacturing personnel training contribution, Prize for manufacturing CSR contribution, and Prize for factory management. This year marks the fifth edition of the prize and, up to and including fiscal year 2014, a total of 24 factories from 22 different companies have so far received the Good Factory Prize. The process and success factor, on-site wisdom, consciousness reform of working various places, social contribution are commended as example of Japan manufacturing industry.

Hitachi Automotive Systems (Suzhou) was recognized for meaningful initiatives that might serve as an example for other companies who have a presence in China. For example, its methods for increasing employee satisfaction through human resources, education, and commendations have resulted in improvements in workforce stability; the introduction of IT-based educational tools has led to improvements in product quality; and strategies have been implemented to increase the skills of its employees.

In addition, at Hitachi Automotive Systems (Suzhou), successive generations of company representatives have continued a system of management that is based on acknowledging the importance of its employees. As a result, the company is committed to the personnel development of its national staff, from whom candidates for executive positions are drawn. Indeed, in 2020, Hitachi Automotive Systems (Suzhou) intends to appoint its company representative from among these national staff—and this objective was also praised by JMA.
